  RULES:  
  1.

Any Logan County Resident and Residents of Counties whose Fairs are open to Logan County residents may submit one Entry in each Class. All General Rules and regulations regarding Open Class Entries must be followed.

  
  2.

Exhibitor must purchase an Exhibitor's Ticket between June 16th and June 30th, 2008.

  
  3.

All Entries must be the work of the Exhibitor. Nude photos cannot be accepted. No
photographs that have won Blue Ribbons in previous Logan County Fairs may be reentered. Only one Entry per Category.

  
  4.

Exhibits will be accepted between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 6th, 2008.

  
  5.

Exhibits must be removed Monday, July 14th, 2008 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Claim Stubs must be presented before Entry is removed.

  
  6.

All 8X10 and 8X12 photographs must be matted or mounted, and securely framed and wired in an 11X14 frame (inside opening measurements) with glass, ready to hang on the pegboard hooks. Frame, Matte, and Photograph will be Judged as a total package.

  
  7.

All 5X7 photographs must be securely framed and wired in a 5X7 frame (inside opening measurement) with glass, ready to hang on pegboard hooks (no matte).

  
  8.

Exhibitor's Tags will be printed and ready to place on the photographs when Entries are brought
to the Fair.

  
  9.

All Entries that do not follow the designated rules or sizes will not be accepted. If any Entry
falls, it will not be Judged. Work entered in an incorrect category will be disqualified and not
be hung. Photos with "date stamp" on them will not be accepted.

  
  10.

Judging time will be Monday, July 7th, 2008 at 9:00 AM unless otherwise published. Exhibitors are permitted and encouraged to attend the Judging and hear the Judge's comments. If the Judge decides a Class merits no winner, his/her decision is final.

  
  11.

All photographs are displayed at the owner's risk. However, all reasonable protection will be provided.

  
  12.

All First Place winners will be judged for "Best of Show" Awards.

  
  13.

Premiums paid: First - $2.25, Second - $1.75, Third - Ribbon, Honorable Mention - Ribbon

Three Best Of Show Rosettes will be awarded. One for the best 8x10/8x12 Color Entry, one for Best Of Show 8X10/8X12 Black and White Entry, and one for Best Of Show 5x7 Color. Reserve Best Of Show Rosettes will be given to the runners-up in each Section.

  
  16.

Total premiums of $5 or less must be picked up at the Fairgrounds. If not picked up by July 31, 2008, Premiums will be returned to the General Fund.

  
       
 
 

Section A - Color 8X10/ 8X12

  1.

FUN ON THE FARM: Photo must have been taken at Marmon Valley Farm between July, 2007 and July, 2008. This category is sponsored by Marmon Valley Farm and
Special Awards will be given by them.

  2.

Flower(s).

  3.

THE NATURAL BEAUTY THAT SURROUNDS US: A Scenic photograph.

  4.

Aging Gracefully: A Photograph of a senior citizen or senior citizens. This category is sponsored by Green Hills Retirement Community and Special Awards will be given by them.

  5.

Fun In The Snow: Photo must be of a person or people enjoying a winter activity such as skiing, snowboarding, sledding, tubing, or just plain "having fun in the snow". This category is sponsored by Adams Ski & Snowboard Shop and Rental. Winners of this category will receive Special Awards.

  6.

LOGAN COUNTY COLLAGE: A collage of places around Logan County (i.e. towns, schools, historical).

  7.

Sunrise/sunset: A photograph of a sunrise or sunset.

  8.

THE COLOR PURPLE: The color of purple must appear somewhere in the photo.

  9.

NOVICE - ARCHITECTURE: This category is open to any Entrant who has never won a Blue Ribbon in the Photography Division of the Logan County Fair. This Category is sponsored by Wilcox Trucking and Special Awards will be given to the winners.

  10.

Portrait: A close-up photo of a person or persons.

  11.

Logan County Wildlife: Photos of animals or birds that naturally occur in Logan County, photo need not be taken in Logan County. Pheasants Forever is sponsoring this Category and Special Awards will be given by them.

  12.

HOLIDAYS: A photograph depicting one of our National Holidays.

  13.

HAIR DO'S (or DON'TS): A photograph with an unusual hairdo appearing in the photo.

  14.

An Award Winning Moment: A theme Category sponsored by All-Around Awards.  Special Awards will be given to the winners.

  15.

CAT(s): A photograph of a cat or cats.

  1.

WORMS AND BUGS: A close-up photo of any insect(s), worms, or butterflies.

  2.

Ways To Get From Here To There: A photo of something with wheels. This category is sponsored by Wilcox Trucking and Special Awards will be given to the winners.

  3.

2007 Logan County Fair: Photo must be taken at the 2007 Logan County Fair.

  4.

Vacation Memories: A photo that depicts your vacation.

  5.

ME AND MOM: A photo with Mother and Son or Mother and Daughter.

STATUES AND MONUMENTS.

  2.

LEADING LINES: A photo with a line leading you to the subject of the photo. A Leading line can be a road, path, sidewalk, fence, river, hedge, or shadow.

  3.

SILHOUETTE(s): A photo of a subject that appears dark against a light background.

  4.

TRUCKS & TRACTORS PRE-1960: A photo of a truck or tractor that was made prior to 1960.

  5.

SEPIA HISTORICAL EVENT: A sepia toned photo that is of a historical event or reenactment.
